As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Optiv

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Optiv you will work as the tip of the spear in producing new business. This role will be a key contributor in driving and managing lead flow and is responsible for seeking new business opportunities by exploring, contacting, and developing relationships with potential clients. To be successful in this role you should have previous experience developing leads, researching potential clients, and meeting sales goals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will aid you in being successful in disseminating technical information into compelling talking points and cultivating solid relationships with clients. If you are motivated and results-driven, we'd like to meet you.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand target account segments and cybersecurity service and technology areas of focus
  • Research target demographics, clients' needs and interests, and other data that can be used in creating strategies for business development
  • Actively engage in efforts to expand lead generation through cold calling, business-to-business selling, and other methods to identify potential business prospects, and assist sales in acquiring new clients by scheduling joint meetings
  • Analyze market reports to determine where to seek out new business opportunities
  • Effectively communicate Optiv’s value proposition as it relates to security services and educate clients and prospects on partner technologies capabilities
  • Conduct research on prospects to understand interest and/or pain points that Optiv can solve
  • Prioritize lead follow-up based on interest level and campaign inclusion
  • Daily interaction with Salesforce.com to update qualified lead records with phone/email activity, as well as sales accepted lead (SAL) records with qualification notes, meeting details, and next steps for sales
  • Qualify leads and move them through the sales pipeline by converting and passing them over to sales via a meeting
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be located in the Greater Salt Lake City Area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of outbound sales, tech experience a plus but is not required
  • Dynamic phone presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills used to break down technical topics into talking points and email communications
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills to build rapport within internal departments and influence conversations with prospects and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to research, initiate, and cultivate business relationships with key executives, contacts, and sponsors within assigned accounts
  • Proven track record of exceeding assigned quotas/goals
  • Goal-oriented and proactive self-starter with demonstrated critical thinking skills to solve problems
  • Ability to work autonomously, in a fast-paced environment while providing high-quality results
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, while effectively managing time
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com, SalesLoft and Drift experience, a plus

Role Summary

Northrop Grumman's Chief Information and Data Office has an opening in its Classified Solutions group for a Cybersecurity Manager to lead a small, diverse team of Information Systems Security Officers (ISSOs) across multiple programs and efforts. In addition, the Cybersecurity Manager will also have daily technical duties as an ISSO/ISSM. This position will be located in Linthicum, MD, and will require the selected candidate to work on-site, full-time, at our Linthicum campus.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate a broad skill set balanced between interpersonal, business, and technical. The candidate must be able to collaborate within and across technical teams as well as other disciplines to accomplish the required goals of system security & compliance while supporting dynamic program milestones and deliveries. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience (with at least 3 of those years focused in Information Systems Security), or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience (with at least 2 of those years focused in Information Systems Security).
  • Candidates must have a current DoD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum), to include a closed investigation date that was completed within the last 5 years, in order to be considered; maintaining the required security clearance will be a condition of continued employment.
  • The selected candidate will be required to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment.
  • Must have work experience in the following: DoD Collateral Programs, DoD Special Access Programs (DoD SAP), and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) programs.
  • Applicable working knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance; NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-137, JSIG.
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAM Level II security certification (e.g., CAP, CASP, CISM, CISSP, GSLC); the required certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance.
  • Master's degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, or similar STEM related discipline, to include prior experience as an ISSM with RMF.
  • Prior experience in a systems administrator or similar technical role.
  • 2+ years of team leadership or management experience; management experience with technical teams a plus.
  • Experience with the development and implementation of security policies and procedures compliant with DoD regulations, and setting cybersecurity strategy.
  • Diverse classified information systems security/information assurance background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to communicate complex security issues to stakeholders and make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Prior experience communicating with internal and external customers and program leadership.

  • Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy.
  • Establish strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits.
  • Assist in the implementation of the required government policy, make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities.
  • Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards. Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports.
  • Document the results of Certification and Accreditation activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Periodically conduct a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • Master’s degree with 3 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; OR an Associates degree with 7 years of experience; OR a High School Diploma or equivalent with 9 years of experience is required
  • Must have a DoD 8570 IAM level II (or higher) security certification (examples: CAP, CASP CE, CCISO, HCISPP, CISM, GSLC, CISSP-Associate, or CISSP)
  • Candidates must have a current DOD Top Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:

  • Master's Degree with 6 years of experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 10 years of experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 12 years of experience is required
  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAM level III security certification (CISM, GSLC, CCISO, CISSP)
  • Candidates must have a current DOD Top Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered
  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of continued employment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security
  • Active Top Secret/SCI, SAP/SAR access, or Polygraph is preferred
  • 4-10 years of experience with Certification and Accreditation of classified systems and Risk Management Framework
  • Knowledge of ACAS, NESSUS, SPLUNK, SCAP, POA&Ms, NIST, DIACAP, NISPOM, system audits, vulnerability scanning, and RMF package development preferred
