Role Overview:

As a Senior Design System Designer at McAfee, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our design system, ensuring consistency, scalability, and usability across all McAfee products. You’ll work closely with designers, developers, and product managers to create and maintain a cohesive system of components, patterns, and guidelines that empower teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

You will act as both a contributor and advocate for the design system, ensuring it evolves to meet the needs of our growing product ecosystem. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on McAfee’s brand and user experience.

This is a Hybrid position located in either San Jose, CA or Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 1 to 6 times a month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to one of the two locations and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

  • Design System Development: Create, maintain, and document reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that ensure consistency and scalability across products.
  • Collaboration: Partner with product designers, developers, and product managers to align the design system with business and user needs, ensuring seamless integration into product workflows.

  • Advocacy: Champion the use of the design system across teams, promoting adoption, educating stakeholders, and gathering feedback to inform improvements.
  • Tooling & Prototyping: Develop and maintain tools, libraries, and prototypes that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the design system.
  • Accessibility Standards: Ensure all design system components meet or exceed accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), creating inclusive experiences for all users.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and iterate on the design system based on user feedback, product requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Documentation: Produce clear, detailed documentation and guidelines to ensure consistent usage and easy adoption of the design system across teams.

About You:

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on design systems or UI/UX design.
  • Proven experience contributing to or maintaining a design system in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with a focus on component libraries and prototyping.
  • Solid understanding of front-end development principles, including HTML, CSS, and responsive design.
  • Excellent visual and interaction design skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and advocate for design system adoption.
  • Experience documenting and presenting design system guidelines to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Develop clear, defensible positioning and messaging for JFrog Platform security solutions, summarizing multiple messages for different personas.

  • Experience in developing effective sales-facing/sales enablement materials, as well as content for website, campaigns, events, and other marketing activities.
  • Ability to work independently, with strong collaboration skills in working with cross-functional, international teams and customers.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and flexible to work with teams across various time zones.
  • Excellent, native-level English written and oral communication skills.

Summary Information about the Role:

The Solutions Engineer (SE) is a sales and technical role with focus on customer/partners and is part of the XC Specialist sales organization. The SE’s primary responsibility is to support the sales team with technical skills and provide technical knowledge around F5 Distributed cloud to our customers. To be effective, a Specialist SE needs to have excellent technical skills and knowledge on both F5 products and the “eco-system” that we work in. The high-level objective is to achieve the allocated sales target and selling F5 Distributed Cloud solutions to address our customers business needs, in partnership with the Specialist Sales Account Manager. From our customers’ perspectives, the SE is a trusted adviser who proactively learns and understands their technical and business challenges and proposes effective solutions to address their concerns. The F5 SE presents the technical capabilities and importantly the business benefits in the technical value proposition.

  • Articulate the F5 product strategy, messaging, and positioning F5 Distributed Cloud's value proposition and solutions for customer business objectives
  • Provide technical expertise through sales presentations, solution designs, solution demonstrations, proofs of concept by various mediums: in-person, virtual presentations, white boarding etc.
  • Determine viability of opportunity and map out organizational structure.
  • Drive the sales process in partnership with the Account Manager, by identifying the Technical Decision Maker, getting their technical validation, support, and sponsorship.
  • Consistently provide world-class customer service through the customer life cycle.
  • Work collaboratively with internal technical and sales resources, share best practices, updates, offer and seek expertise as the need arises in various opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in secure Cloud architectures in: AWS, Azure, GCP or other public clouds
  • CI/CD experience (automate build and test pipelines with GitOps, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience with multi-cloud design
  • Experience with cloud instrumentation and configuration management tools for deployment such as GKE, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Datadog and Grafana
  • Experience in software development in Go, Python, Ruby, scripting, languages
  • 8 + years of related industry experience
  • BS/BA or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity/experience with F5 or similar industry solution deployment a plus
  • Relevant certifications a plus
