  • Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.
  • Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure.
  • Respond to computer security breaches and viruses.
  • Ensure the rigorous application of cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all IT and cybersecurity services.
  • Develop and design security solutions to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information throughout the enterprise.
  • Identify, plan, and document improvements to security controls.
  • Develop and document recommendations and courses of action (COAs) to solve complex cybersecurity problems.
  • Develop and interpret cybersecurity requirements and assist in the formulation of cybersecurity/IT budgets.
  • Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified security hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Ensure the assessment and implementation of identified computer and network environment fixes as part of the Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management program.
  • Guide the implementation of appropriate operational structures and processes to ensure an effective cybersecurity program.
  • Maintain the appropriate operational security posture for an information system.
  • Manage the security of the information system through Certification & Accreditation (C&A).
  • Support the information system owner for the completion of security-related responsibilities.
  • Review System Security Plans (SSP) and solutions.
  • Recommend security mechanism implementations.
  • Evaluate and document the effectiveness of solutions implemented to provide the "CIA Triad".

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 (five) years of experience with cybersecurity or information assurance
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
  • One of following security certifications (active status): CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO - (minimum DoD 8570 IAM Level II Certification)
  • Must know Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Active TS/SCI + Polygraph

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DoD Cybersecurity Policies
  • Experience with Xacta Solutions (Xacta 360)
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
  • Experience with Zero Trust
  • Exposure to AWS (Amazon Web Services), ACAS (Security scanning software), vCenter, WSUS (Windows Server Update Service), and/or STIGs/IAVA
  • A problem solver who can get in, be given a project, and use engineering skills to determine a solution
  • Able to build systems from the ground up – network architecture/systems engineering

Role Description

We are looking for someone to help build our application security function. Reporting directly to the Head of Application Security, this exciting opportunity will have a key role in enhancing application security across the group.

The role will be working closely with the development teams to ensure the end-to-end security of our applications. This will cover everything from the idea / design phase through to arranging and evaluating penetration tests.

You’ll play a key role in supporting the release of secure code across the FNZ Group, support security reviews, provide threat modelling support and FNZ application/product releases. You will also be assuring the security of the applications we develop and implement our application security strategy.

Required Experience

  • A customer focused mindset, where you can guide them through security risks and questions, including best practices on how to remediate and resolve
  • At least 5 years experience in application security
  • Able to work in dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders with a strong focus on business outcomes
  • Experience of software security controls and methodology
  • Experience in one or more of; various .NET (C#, ASP, ‘net core) SQL, React
  • Exposure to deployment tools such as Jenkins and Team City

NOTE: This is a hybrid role with offices located in Charlotte and Boston. Only candidates living or willing to relocate to these locations will be considered.

We are seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer / Sr. Engineer to join a growing IAM team in the financial and insurance space. The IAM Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing identity and access solutions to ensure secure and efficient access to critical systems, applications, and data. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of IAM concepts, tools, and technologies, and possesses a deep understanding of security best practices, compliance standards, and automation in identity management.   • Develop and implement IAM policies, procedures, and standards to ensure secure access to systems and data.
  • Design and deploy solutions for user provisioning, authentication, authorization, and identity governance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify identity-related risks and implement security controls.

Access Management:

  • Implement and manage Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions.
  • Integrate applications and systems into the IAM framework for centralized authentication and access control.
  • Ensure role-based access control (RBAC), attribute-based access control (ABAC), and least privilege principles are followed.

Identity Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee identity lifecycle management, including onboarding, offboarding, and user access reviews.
  • Automate provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts using IAM tools and scripts.
  • Conduct regular audits of user access and maintain compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., NYDFS, SOX).

Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

  • Monitor identity systems for performance, security incidents, and unauthorized access attempts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IAM-related issues across the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to respond to security incidents and improve IAM security posture.

Collaboration and Training:

  • Work closely with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business units to understand their access needs and provide secure IAM solutions.
  • Provide guidance and training to users and teams on IAM policies, best practices, and tools.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, threats, and best practices in IAM.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-7+ years of hands-on experience in IAM, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of identity management protocols and standards such as SAML, Oauth, LDAP, etc.
  • Experience with IAM tools and platforms such as SailPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization technologies such as MFA, SSO, and RBAC.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of IAM processes.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and SaaS tools (Okta, Ping Identity, AWS, Salesforce, Workday) and integrating IAM in hybrid environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, Certified Identity and Access Manager) are a plus.
