  • Design, develop and execute test automation to test software features on our next-generation security platform as part of our Prisma Access Cloud Service
  • Become inventive in testing approaches by building tools and automation scripts
  • Suggest and implement improvements to the test process
  • File bugs and work with Development to fix issues seen
  • Mix in your creative skills with a focused testing approach to produce the best quality products in cybersecurity
  • Be involved in a rigorous approach to testing for specifications, assist the team with testing methods or tools for new testing
  • You will also have the chance to work on different public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to automate cloud orchestration, visualization and alerting mechanisms

Your Experience

  • Be proficient in one or more scripting/programming languages including Python or Go
  • Experience with IPSec, BGP, L3 VPNs, SD-WAN, DHCP, TCP, UDP
  • Networking - Expert level Experience with REST API driven Automation using Python or Go
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies such Aws/Azure/GCP
  • Experience with DB clusters (MySQL,BQ, Redis,,Zookeeper,Neo
  • Experience with Linux or Esxi Virtualization or Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
  • 10+ years experience
  • M.S./B.S. degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent military experience required

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $147000 - $237500/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.

This Role:

Recorded Future is looking for an analyst to assist in producing consistently high quality cyber threat intelligence to clients with a particular focus on the activity, trends, and motivations of nation-state-aligned cyber threat actors (referred to hereafter as “APT groups”). The analyst will be primarily responsible for responding to ad hoc intelligence requests regarding the landscape of APT activity. Writing either ad hoc or recurring reports about this topic area will require the ability to work with or automate relevant datasets. Outside of reporting specifically on APT trends, the analyst may be asked to contribute insights about APT activity to intelligence with more general requirements.

  • Produce and review finished intelligence reports that address clients’ priority intelligence requirements related to activity from APT groups, particularly originating from the “Big 4” countries of Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran
  • Engage with clients across report lifecycle: Initial scoping, finished intelligence delivery, and follow-up review / support
  • Develop novel, automated, or simpler processes for research and analysis
  • Work on projects across multiple research teams with sometimes tight deadlines

Required Skills / Experience:

  • 5+ years experience as a threat intelligence analyst or in similar position
  • BA/BS or MA/MS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting technical threat analysis and research
  • In-depth understanding of TCP/IP and other networking protocols and network traffic analysis techniques
  • Detailed understanding of at least one nation-state APT group - past activities, TTPs, motivations, etc.
  • Fluency in common CTI research and data analysis platforms/tools such as ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Kibana), Maltego, Shodan, DomainTools, or other similar tools/datasets
  • Managing client expectations based on pre-established scope of work and delivery timeframe
  • Ability to demonstrate strong writing ability, to be assessed via a writing sample
  • Practical experience using common threat intelligence analysis models such as MITRE ATT&CK, the Diamond Model, and the Cyber Kill Chain to incorporate into client reports

Highly Desirable Skills / Experience:

  • Working knowledge of at least one language other than English, with relevance preferred for Russian, Chinese, Korean, and/or Farsi
  • Experience working with clients to produce intelligence requirements, or reports / research in line with such requirements
  • Demonstrable experience of conducting cyber threat investigations

  • Optimize data workloads at a software level by improving processing efficiency.
  • Independently tackle problem statements and bring solutions to life.
  • Develop new data processing routes to remove redundancy or reduce transformation overhead.
  • Monitor and maintain existing data workflows.
  • Use monitoring and observability best practices to ensure pipeline performance remains high.
  • Perform complex transformations on both real time and batch data assets.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong programming and technology knowledge in cloud data processing.

  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Data warehousing and Data Lakes for analytics use cases
